Samuel B. Schreiner, MAC
As director of “Restoration Counseling” at Shellmire Unlimited, PC, I work with individuals facing depression, anxiety, addictions, major life changes, and relationship challenges. I also counsel married couples who are seeking to communicate more effectively, renew the love and romance in their marriage, or enhance their parenting skills. Due to the uniqueness of each person and couple I engage, I employ an eclectic approach in therapy work, tailored to the specific circumstances and cultural orientation of each situation. My education, life experience, and training in “person-centered” therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, and Existential Therapy, qualify me to perform mental health counseling with individuals, couples, and groups.
I believe everyone has the inherent capacity to heal and restore the uniquely authentic expression of themselves for which they were designed. My role in counseling is as a facilitator and guide, to assist individuals and couples through their process of self-awareness and reorientation.
My history in counseling includes 3 years with Shellmire Unlimited, PC, and 8 years of private practice in the 1970’s-1980’s, which had its roots in one of Portland’s original holistic health clinics, “Everett House Healing Center”. As director of “Restoration Counseling”, I am dedicating my life’s experience, education, and training to assist people in developing the skills and tools, which will empower them to heal and realize their authentic potential.
