Philosophy & Approach: Family… I believe in the family, the home, as the core of society. Home is where it all begins; and when the home is broken, the brokenness domino effects into the neighborhood, the community, the church, and the school, unless healing is found, received, and nurtured. In my work of helping individuals, couples, families, and groups find this healing, I employ a systemic approach heavily influenced by cognitive-behavioral and brief therapy aspects.
Background: I completed an Associate of Arts degree in Business in 2006 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 2008. I am currently taking graduate courses at Capella University in pursuit of a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling/Therapy, expected graduation January 2019. My background also includes work experience in health information services, medical and dental front office, and health administration support. Access to proper mental health care and quality service delivery are very important to me as a professional and an individual directly affected by mental illness. I am also a student member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).
